The manufacturers of baby wipes must be totally slack-jawed at how popular their product has become in recent years. In all probability, they believed that their baby wipes would at least live up to their name and intended use: a means to clean up an infant. However, it is a good bet that they themselves never imagined, in their wildest dreams, how versatile and helpful these magnificent little wipes could be in the everyday lives of adults.

Baby Wipes Are Not Just For Babies

For all those adults who have never been introduced to the many and varied benefits of baby wipes, and for those who remain skeptical, here is a minor education on some of the best adult uses for baby wipes.

  • Using baby wipes to wipe off purses, shoes and laptops lifts any accumulated dust quickly and cleanly.
  • Baby wipes have many uses in the car. They are great for wiping off the dust that settles on the dashboard, console and steering wheel between washes. The wipes work equally as well on leather or vinyl. They are also useful in cleaning up smudged fingers and hands after checking tire pressure or lifting the hood of the car and checking the engine.
  • Surface cleaning of things that are used everyday is easily accomplised by using baby wipes. Wiping down telephones at work or at home, including cell phones is fast and easy. To zap the dust that accumulates on TV's, keyboards, computer towers and monitors, baby wipes do the trick. (Note: This excludes computer and TV screens.)
  • When unable to take a shower or even a sponge bath, baby wipes are a fast and easy way to freshen up. Of course, nothing beats a shower but in a pinch, baby wipes do help.
  • Removing eye makeup, especially mascara, is gentle and easy with baby wipes, and they leave no oily residue like so many eye makeup removal products on the market.
  • Baby wipes lift dust from books that have been left too long in bookcases. Not only do they clean the binding, front and back of a book, but brushing them along the pages when the book is closed will also remove some of the stubborn dust that clings to those pages.
  • When eating sloppy foods that can leave dribble behind (spaghetti, Sloppy Joes, etc.) baby wipes will make you presentable until you can wash your face.

Baby Wipes Are a Pet Owner's Dream

One of the best (and original) uses of baby wipes is lifting fur balls left by the family dog or cat on the floor and catching them before they fly all over the place. It sure is cleaner, faster and easier than trying to shove those stubborn pet hairs onto a dustpan after trying to sweep them up.
