Many ingredients in cosmetics have been praised as virtual cellulite cures. Self-tanners provide a way to camouflage cellulite, at least to a certain extent. Just as dark contouring under the cheekbones makes them seem more prominent, darkening the skin over cellulite deposits can help fool the eye into seeing a more even surface. The most effective method is supposed to be exfoliation followed by application of a tanning cream or lotion, and then a second layer of spray-on tan applied eight hours later.
